As Bloom Group’s director of content development, Laurie has a passion for helping experts create exceptional content; great creativity and ingenuity; strong people and project management skills; and the ability to pen great prose and sharpen the prose of others.
Prior to joining the Bloom Group, Laurie spent eight years overseeing the development of thought leadership campaigns at Baker McKenzie, a $2.8 billion global law firm. She set the firm’s editorial standards, led writing workshops around the world, and spearheaded dozens of thought leadership studies, articles and videos on topics ranging from protecting trade secrets to assessing how technology will change the future of work. She also taught lawyers how to write for business audiences through training and a widely read blog.
Prior to joining the professional services world, Laurie was a journalist for 10 years, reporting for newspapers in New Jersey and Miami and serving as a features editor at Crain’s Chicago Business. She has an MS in journalism from Columbia University and a BA in sociology from the University of Colorado.
